Goalkeepers
are encouraged to attend any of our camps!
Day Camps - Goalkeepers will be trained in the morning by the goalkeeper staff and then after lunch will join in with the field players. We encourage young keepers to continue playing on the field to keep their foot skills sharp as this is very important for goalkeepers in today's game. There will be opportunities in the afternoon during small sided games for the keepers to be in the net and get game experience.
Elite Weeks and Super Elite - Goalkeepers will be trained in morning and afternoon technical sessions with the goalkeeper staff. Games in the evening will allow the camp staff to help the keepers with angles and have opportunities to talk through certain game situations as they develop.
At all of our camps keepers will learn proper technique for collapse dives, forward dives, extension dives, and breakaway saves. Keepers will also learn how to deal with crosses, 1v1's, and will practice starting the attack with good distribution. Goalkeeper fitness will also be a part of the keeper camp. It is best if goalkeepers are full time keepers during camp in order to receive the best possible instruction.
DIRECTOR OF GOALKEEPING
Goalkeepers are trained under the supervision of UCF Goalkeeper Coach Donna Fishter. During Fishter’s tenure at UCF her goalkeepers have won numerous conference, regional, and national awards: All conference honors in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008; All region honors in 2006 and 2008; Conference All tournament team honors from 2000-2002 and 2007. In 2006 her goalkeeper was named to the
Soccer America Team of the Week and in 2007 was awarded CUSA Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All-American. In 2008 she coached an NSCAA All-American second team and All-Region Freshman Team goalkeeper. In 2009 one of her goalkeepers was named to the All-Region second team and another who recently graduated has entered the WPS draft for 2010.
